About Centering Minds

Support for your child. Community for your family.

Centering Minds was founded by Modesta Hwang, an educator and disability services professional with over 30 years of experience supporting children and families across Canada and South Korea. What began as one educator’s commitment to children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and other developmental disabilities has grown into a small, dedicated team offering individualized therapy, tutoring, and family support — built around a simple idea: finding the right support for your child shouldn’t add more stress to an already full plate.

Who We Support

We work with children in youth across the Greater Toronto Area who have autism spectrum disorder and other developmental or learning needs. Every plan is built around the child in front of us, using evidence-based approaches like ABA and Pivotal Response Treatment — never a one-size-fits-all program.

Support That Fits Around Your Life

We know that finding the right support for your child is hard enough without it colliding with work, school pickup, and everything else on your plate. That’s why our programs are centered based and in-home based and scheduled around your family’s routine, not the other way around.

Our Values

Care

Children with exceptional needs deserve clinical expertise and genuine care. We work to connect the people around every child – family, school, community, and government support – so nothing falls through the cracks.

Community

Community

It takes a village to raise a child. We build that village around every family we work with, so no one has to navigate this alone.

Choice

We promote independence and build inclusive spaces where children with exceptional needs are valued for exactly who they are.
